for 40 days people are going to open their mind to a completely different way of eating, and will try new foods that they will love and will continue to eat after the 40 days.

i honestly do not see why this is a bad thing.

40 days is a long time.

If someone can stay vegan for more than a month, and if they find it easier than they imagined it to be, some of them won’t go back.

If they were to watch Earthlings or Forks Over Knives (or both) during those 40 days it might really stick.

They’ll feel healthier and better over all, and I honestly think the level of exposure that jumping head first into an entirely different lifestyle for 40 days will provide is really a good thing for animal rights.

The hardest part is making the change in the first place. I see no downside.

Exactly. Everything said above. Any effort, no matter how small or in what mindset, will result in lives being saved. Whether it sticks or not, the change still had an effect, and many individuals will have experienced an alternative lifestyle outside their comfort zones and paradigms for over a month. Go for it.
